A beginner-friendly, interactive workshop designed especially for O/A Level students to explore the world of Artificial Intelligence. Through fun activities, real-world examples, and hands on activities, students will discover how AI is shaping the world, and how they can be part of it.

  • What is AI? Everyday examples (Snapchat filters, Google Maps, ChatGPT)
  • How machines learn and make decisions

Generative AI & Prompting

  • What is Generative AI? How can it help you write, learn, and create?
  • Live demo with Chatbots
  • Activity: Students try creative prompts (e.g., make a joke, write a dialogue)
  • Responsible use: What’s okay and what’s not (SDAIA youth ethics)

Introduction to AI: How It’s Changing Our World

  • Guided hands-on session making an AI Agent
  • Define AI Agent goal (e.g., school assistant, local guide, study buddy)
  • Add local context, personality, and ethical tone
  • Test and refine your agent with peers

Introduction to Visual AI

  • What is computer vision? Real-world use cases: traffic, crops, Hajj safety
  • Live demo using Teachable Machine
  • Try a pre-trained Saudi object classifier
  • Show how labeling affects accuracy
  • Reflection: What happens if an AI “sees” wrong? Why does that matter?

Eligibility Criteria  

  • 14-18 Years of Age (Male/Female)

  • Students currently enrolled or have recently done O/A Levels or Matric/FSc

  • Basic computer literacy (no coding/AI experience required)

Dr. Mobin Javed

Dr. Mobin Javed is a leading expert in cybersecurity, privacy, and AI. She is currently a Visiting Scientist at ICSI Berkeley and Saarland University, and leads the SIA Research Group at LUMS. Her award-winning work focuses on threat detection, usable security, and AI in high-risk settings. A dedicated educator, she champions inclusive and ethical tech education.
